On the surface…

 

Adorning the vibrant, sun-splashed coast of Vylbrand’s Mists lies an Ochaya of renowned reputation for it’s welcoming hospitality where a patron’s desires are met beyond expectations. It’s gleaming white exterior and resplendent pale gold trim lend credence to the golden sandy shores and dazzling turquoise waters.

 

The Ochaya is aptly named Hanakotoba which means ‘the secret language of flowers”.  The beautiful Geisha and Maiko who grace the halls wear fragrant flowers in their hair and dress in lavish silk garments in an array of splendid colors.  Visitors will surely feel like they are in a garden of paradise. 

 

Guests and VIP members are greeted in luxurious grandeur amidst a serene setting when visiting the Hanakotoba Ochaya.  Geisha and maiko move about, like beautiful dancers, adding a feast for the eyes and senses, transporting patrons from the mundane into a surreal . No other ochaya hosts such a bevy of beauties; male and female, a deliciously crafted menu and full bar of liquors from the local brews to exotics imports.

In truth there is more to this Ochaya than what is seen on the surface. It is host to talented employees who ply their skills at information brokering, drug manufacturing and more . Some excel in the art of being able to have their patrons spill their worries while gleaning invaluable information which at times when sold to the right ears, can change the underworld and Black Markets of Eorzea and beyond. 

 

The Ochaya is a business but there is more to it than just making gil. It creates a bound between its employees. It brings everyone together as family. A family that protects its members that have proven their allegiance.  In the Ochaya there is no greater sin than betraying your family and punishment is swift and harsh. Some say it is a fate far worse than death.
